Services

The National Arts Program (NAP) in Hartford is a community services program of CRT. NAP provides professional and non-professional artists with a rare opportunity to exhibit their works publicly.

Cash awards are given for original, creative contributions in six classifications: drawing, crafts, graphic arts, painting, photography, and three-dimensional art. Art is judged by professional recognized artists in categories by age and professional status. Entry categories may vary year to year.

Eligibility Requirements

All Connecticut residents age 6 and older are eligible to participate in amateur and professional categories.

Application Process

Call CRT’s Development Office at (860) 560-5471 for entry forms/information. Pre-registration by Jan. 7, 2012 is strongly encouraged. First, second and third prizes will be awarded in each of the adult, teen (13-18), and youth (12 and under) categories.

Works in all forms of visual arts are welcome. To enter, participants are encouraged to pre-register by Jan. 7 and must deliver their works of art to the Capital Community College Lobby at 950 Main Street, Hartford, between 3-5 p.m., Jan. 9-12. Only the first 350 entries will be accepted.

A free, public gallery showing will be held Jan. 23 – Feb. 4 at Capital Community College, open 7 a.m. – 10 p.m., M-F; and 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Saturday. An awards ceremony and reception will be held at the college on Saturday, Jan. 28 at 1:00 p.m.
